Carbide: It has a series of excellent properties such as high hardness, wear resistance, good strength and toughness, heat resistance, and corrosion resistance. It is widely used as tool materials, such as turning tools, milling cutters, planers, drills, boring tools, etc. It is suitable for cutting cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and ordinary materials, and can also be used for cutting difficult-to-machine materials such as heat-resistant steel, stainless steel, high manganese steel, and tool steel.


Tool steel: Hardness, wear resistance, and heat resistance are relatively poor, but high bending strength, cheap and easy to weld. It has good sharpening performance and is widely used in forming tools for medium and low speed cutting. It is often used in drills, taps, saw blades, hobs, gear shaping knives, broaches and other tools, especially for making impact-resistant tools.


Ceramic: It has high hardness and wear resistance, low strength and toughness, and low thermal conductivity. It is suitable for semi-finishing or finishing of continuous cutting of steel, cast iron, and high-hardness materials.


Superhard material: Artificial diamond has the highest hardness and wear resistance, good thermal conductivity but not temperature resistance, expensive, processing and welding are very difficult, mainly used for finishing non-ferrous metals and non-metallic materials, not suitable for ferrous metals . Cubic boron nitride has high hardness, high heat resistance, and good thermal conductivity. It is mainly used for semi-finishing and finishing machining of difficult-to-machine materials such as high-temperature alloys, hardened steel, and chilled cast iron, especially for high-speed cutting of ferrous metals. CNC tools are generally composed of CNC inserts, tool shims, clamping elements and tool bodies. The CNC blade undertakes the function of cutting and forming the machined surface. It is the key component to realize the function of the CNC tool and determine the performance of the tool. Cemented carbide is the most important material for manufacturing the CNC blade. At present, in the world, cemented carbide cutting tools dominate, accounting for more than 60%. The change in the output value structure of cutting tools in China is related to the development level of my country's manufacturing industry. Carbide cutting tools are the leading cutting tools participating in digital manufacturing. With the upgrading of machine tool equipment in my country, there will be more and more cutting tools made of cemented carbide. The proportion of cemented carbide tools will also increase from the current close to 50% to 60%.
