The cutting performance of tool materials is related to the durability and productivity of tools, and the processability of tool materials affects the manufacturing and grinding quality of the
tool itself. It is advisable to choose tool materials with high hardness, good adhesion resistance and toughness, such as YG-type cemented carbide. It is best not to use YT-type cemented
carbide, especially when processing 1Gr18Ni9Ti austenitic stainless steel, YT-type cemented carbide should be absolutely avoided, because the titanium (Ti) in stainless steel and the Ti in
YT-type cemented carbide have an affinity, and the chips can easily take away the Ti in the alloy, causing the tool wear to increase. Production practice shows that the use of three grades of
materials, YG532, YG813 and YW2, to process stainless steel has a better processing effect.

ISO
YG532 14 ≥1760 ≥91.5 High red hardness, good toughness, strong anti-adhesion ability, suitable for rough and fine processing of large workpieces such as austenitic, martensitic stainless
steel, non-magnetic steel, and high-temperature alloy steel; high alloy durability, good high temperature resistance, and high surface quality of the processed workpiece. K10~K20
M20
YG813 14.05~14.1 ≥1570 ≥91 Good wear resistance, high bending strength and anti-adhesion ability, suitable for high-temperature alloy steel; for austenitic stainless steel, high manganese
steel, etc., which are prone to cold work hardening, the processing effect is better than YW2. K10~K20
M20
YW2 12.4~13.5 ≥1320 ≥90.5 High strength, good red hardness, and can withstand large impact loads. Suitable for rough and fine processing of heat-resistant steel, high manganese steel,
stainless steel and other materials. M20
