1. 420 & 420J
420 steel is on the lower end of the quality scale, but is good enough for general use. It has a relatively low carbon content, making it suitable for softer blades, and it tends to dull its edges
more easily than higher-end steels. A blade made of 420 steel will not last long before the blade is blunt, that is, it is flexible and resistant to rust, but it is generally not resistant to wear and
tear. As you can imagine, knives made from this steel are generally inexpensive and mass-produced.
2. AUS-6
Made in Japan, it is equivalent to the 420 series steel. A soft steel that is not of high quality and has a relatively low carbon content, but it has very good corrosion resistance.
