In the US market, the price of medium-sized twist drills is about US$10 each, while the price of low-grade twist drills produced in China is only US$1, and they are used as hand tools. my country now has the largest automobile industry in the world, but the high-efficiency production lines imported from abroad in the automobile industry still use 80% to 90% of the knives imported, including domestic foreign-funded enterprise products.

     In recent years, most of the high-efficiency and advanced cutting tools used in my country's machining are imported from abroad, including those produced by foreign-funded enterprises in China. We also export a lot of knives now, but mainly cheap and low-end standard knives. In 2004, my country produced about 2.5 billion knives, of which 2 billion were cheap and low-grade knives, and most of them were exported. In the next few years, most of the exports were still middle and low-grade knives.

     Now my country's tool factories mainly produce traditional standard knives in large quantities. Judging from the technological development trend of the machinery manufacturing industry, the proportion of high-efficiency CNC machine tools in factories in my country will increase year by year in the future, and the demand for high-efficiency and advanced cutting tools will increase rapidly, while the demand for traditional standard cutting tools will decrease year by year.

     At present, the production, supply and marketing of cutting tools in our country is that high-end advanced cutting tool products mainly rely on imports from abroad, while most of the low-grade cutting tool products are exported due to the vicious expansion. This situation must be changed as soon as possible. A large number of standard cutting tools are used in the production of my country's machinery manufacturing industry, while developed countries use a large number of high-efficiency and advanced cutting tools, resulting in the processing efficiency of our country being far lower than that of foreign countries.
