Precautions for use and maintenance of digital measuring tools

Precautions for use

1. Before use, wipe the surface of the protective film of the digital display measuring tool repeatedly with a dry and clean cloth (can be dipped in a little cleaning oil) to

remove any moisture that may condense. Although water is a weak electrolyte, it can still ionize to produce hydrogen ions and hydroxyl ions. These ions will weaken or block

the capacitive signal, causing confusion in the display. You should pay attention to this in humid environments. There are currently waterproof digital calipers on the market.

If the use environment is harsh and you need waterproofing, please purchase an IP67 waterproof digital caliper.

Working environment: temperature 5-40℃, relative humidity below 80%, prevent liquids containing electrolytes from wetting the surface of the protective film.

It is not allowed to apply voltage to digital measuring tools, and it is not advisable to use electric pens to engrave to avoid damaging the circuit.

Calibrate the zero position, carefully clean the measuring surface (use a piece of clean paper between the measuring surfaces and pull it out several times), so that the two

measuring surfaces are in contact with each other, press the "clear key" to set the zero position, and then before measurement can be carried out. In order to reduce the

measurement error, the thrust used when calibrating the zero position should be as close as possible to the thrust used during measurement.

Measurement method: Generally, the absolute measurement method is used, and the zero point setting is as above.

In order to improve the measurement accuracy, the differential measurement method can be used: clamp a measuring block (or other sample with a standard size) that is

close to the size of the workpiece to be measured between the two measuring surfaces with a touch force, and press the clear key. Set the relative zero point and read the

difference from the standard size when measuring the workpiece (this difference is usually very small, so it is usually called micro-difference measurement). This difference

plus the aforementioned standard size is the actual size of the workpiece being measured or called the absolute size.

Data output and data processing: At present, most domestic digital calipers have a data output socket (you can see it by opening the small cover in the upper right corner of

the ruler frame cover), using special connections and special interfaces (data converters, often called Adapter), which can be connected to a computer or printer for data

processing or printing of statistical analysis charts of measurement data.

Replace the battery: When there is no display or flashing display, it means the battery voltage is too low and the battery should be replaced. The battery is a button cell with

a voltage of 1.55V. Since the battery will naturally discharge, the battery sold on the market may have a greater voltage attenuation due to a longer time before leaving the

factory, and may not be easy to use. In this case, you should contact the manufacturer for mail order.

repair

The failure rate of digital calipers is very low. Most of the problems encountered by users are caused by battery consumption or poor contact. Occasionally, the following

failures may occur:

1. "Crash": Due to occasional interference from external electromagnetic fields, the displayed value is locked and sometimes other symbols appear.

Treatment method: Remove the battery, wait for more than 30 seconds, and then reinstall it. It will return to normal once or several times.

2. Flashing display: The battery voltage is low and the battery should be replaced as soon as possible.

3. Digital confusion: The display is unstable. Since the surface of the protective film is affected by moisture, please refer to the aforementioned "Usage Precautions" for

treatment methods.

4. Mechanical wear: The repair method is basically the same as that of ordinary vernier calipers, but hard knocking should be avoided and the electronic components should

be removed before knocking. Since it can be reset at any point, it is not restricted by the zero error requirements of the vernier caliper, and the number of repairs can also be

increased. It is worth noting the repair of the internal measuring claw. Since the left end of the ordinary four-purpose caliper is used as the step measurement surface, the

root of the internal measuring claw is hard and brittle, making repair difficult.
