Two grinding methods for engraving machine inserts

18 Aug 2023

Surface grinding method (FlatGrind/VGrind): A grinding method that takes into account both sharpness and firmness. It is ground flat from the back to the edge, so it has

a fairly strong back and spine. Compared with the above two methods, this grinding method is more difficult to grind, because many steel materials need to be ground

off during the grinding process. The blade is very thin and sharp, suitable for all kinds of field knives, and it is a very good grinding method. Because it is V-shaped from

the longitudinal section of the knife, it is also called V-shaped grinding method.

Saber Grind: Similar to the flat grinding method, there are no grooves on both sides of the knife face. The difference is that the flat grind is ground from the back of the

knife to the blade, while the cavalry grind is ground from the middle. It also has excellent cutting chopping ability. Early cavalry knives were ground in this way, so it is called

cavalry grinding.

Whether it is an engraving machine knife or some other knives, the most important thing is to choose a suitable grinding method. Shanghai Hengcheng Carbide Co., Ltd.

has nearly 30 years of cutting tool production experience, focusing on scientific research and innovation, and has introduced a number of precision cutting tool production

lines, laser cutting machines, vacuum welding machines, German ZELLER testing instruments and other advanced equipment from abroad.
