The bearing manufacturing process usually includes roughing, semi-finishing, finishing and super-finishing stages to ensure that the bearing can achieve the required dimensional accuracy
and surface roughness. Different types of cutting tools are used in these stages for milling, drilling, grinding and polishing.
Common cutting tools include the following:
Milling cutter:
Application: Used to form the preliminary shape of the bearing in the roughing stage.
How to use: Select the appropriate milling cutter diameter and number of teeth, and adjust the speed and feed rate according to the hardness of the material.
Drill:
Application: Used to drill holes on the inner and outer rings of the bearing to make holes required for installation or lubrication.
How to use: Select a drill suitable for the hardness of the material and use appropriate coolant to reduce heat accumulation.
Grinding machine:
Application: Used to improve the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the bearing in the semi-finishing and finishing stages.
How to use: Select the appropriate grinding wheel material and grit, and adjust the grinding parameters to achieve the required surface roughness.
Super-finishing tool:
Application: Used in the final super-finishing stage, such as polishing and grinding, to further improve the surface quality of the bearing.
How to use: Select appropriate superfinishing tools and techniques according to the bearing material and required accuracy.
