CNC machines are particularly suitable for milling in the metalworking industry. This state-of-the-art control technology enables automation and therefore the production
of workpieces with high precision. The machine tool uses computer numerical control (CNC) technology, using CAD programs to design the required workpiece model. The
CAM system then provides the model with parameters such as speed, feed rate or depth of cut and transfers these to the CNC software. Large-scale production is particularly economical on CNC milling machines because rotational speeds can reach 18,000 rpm and even exceed 50,000 rpm on high-speed machine tools.
